Tulip Farm Maternity Shoot | Mommy & Me Session | Greenville SC Photography

Floral portraits are something I've been exploring in different capacities this year. I love documenting how women and children change with the different seasons. This spring, Nikki met me at Thompson Family Farms, a short drive from Greenville, SC, and we took her maternity photos while the tulip fields were in peak bloom.

Since Nikki was expecting her second child, she brought along her first daughter, as well, and we did a joint maternity / mommy and me session. That way, we had images to treasure her one-on-one time with her eldest, and we had images to capture both of their excitement regarding their growing family.

Even though we arrived right when the farm opened, it was still an intensely bright morning. Golden hour is beautiful, but sometimes you just have to be realistic and work around schedules. This might mean certain venues are not open during golden hour. Being a mom myself, I also know this might mean your little one is not awake, fed, or in any kind of mood to be in front of the camera during golden hour. Being a natural light photographer, I pride myself on being able to produce light and airy photos at any time of day, in many different conditions, and I was really pleased with how these images turned out! Tulip season is short and sweet, so I hope to be able to do more sessions like this next spring.
